The meeting celebrated the completion of a year-long creative nonfiction writing project at the Loft Literary Center, featuring readings from the current cohort. Participants shared their experiences of moving abroad, adjusting to new cultures, and dealing with intergenerational trauma, with a focus on the mental health aspects of their experiences as refugees from the Vietnam War. The group also discussed the importance of structure, support, and feedback in the writing process, with plans for future publications and projects shared.
